HAPPY TOGETHER: The Catholic Blueprint for a Loving Marriage

The parish is the place where marriages and families are built.   The unique contribution of parishes to building marriages is helping couples understand and appreciate marriage as a vocation.  Drawing from his experience as educator and family life minister John Bosio, author of Happy Together, the Catholic Blueprint for a Loving Marriage will explore how parishes can educate families about the vocation of marriage.  He will also introduce Happy Together as a tool in such effort.

WHAT PARTICIPANTS SAY ABOUT THE RETREAT

At the end of the retreat we asked couples: What aspects of the retreat did you find most helpful?  They answered:

  • The stories you shared are very helpful because they are similar to our stories - we all have the same issues.
  • The positive tone of the retreat and the image of polishing the jewels was great.
  • There was a good balance of talks, stories, games and music.
  • We loved the blueprint game.
  • Teri's open and sharing way and John's warmth.

Then we asked: What will you take with you from this retreat?

They answered:

  • A renewed awareness of the need to continually nurture our relationship.
  • Tools for a strong Christ centered marriage.
  • The powerful message of prayer and togetherness.
  • A great knowledge of what my spouse desires/needs from me.
  • A renewed emphasis on Christ's presence in our marriage.
  • The little things we can do to have a more loving and Christ like marriage.

THE CATHOLIC BLUEPRINT FOR A LOVING MARRIAGE

Happiness is what all brides and grooms dream to find in marriage.  In reality there is not perfect marriage because all spouses are imperfect.  However, our imperfections can be cured and our limitations overcome with the help of God's grace.  Happiness in marriage is possible.  This presentation will outline the road to such happiness.  It is a blueprint given to us by the wisdom of the Catholic Faith.  John Bosio, author of Happy Together, the Catholic Blueprint for a Loving Marriage will outline the elements of the marital relationship that have the power to transform your relationship and increase the joy you experience in the company of your spouse.
