BEATITUDES: A Couple's Path to Greater Joy

In response to requests by parishes for more resources like SIX DATES for Catholic Couples John and Teri Bosio are developing a new program.  

THE BEATITUDES, a Couple's Path to Greater Joy, explores the Beatitudes as the path to holiness in Christian marriage.  The format mirrors that of SIX DATES for Catholic Couples: a DVD with six videos, handouts, prayers, coordinator’s guide, and a book for the participants. 

Available in 2012 the program is based on John’s new book: The Beatitudes, a Catholic Couple’s Path to a Loving Marriage, published by Twenty-Third Publications, also available in 2012. 

 

Drawing from the Beatitudes proclaimed by Jesus in Chapter 5 of the Gospel of Matthew, the program offers a faith-based perspective on dealing with and growing through some of the situations married couples experience in everyday life:

-the disullusionment of dreams unfulfilled

-the tendency to deny our problems

-the stress and exhaustion of working and running a family

-the temptations encountered at work and through social media

-the need for compassion toward each other

-the beauty and goodness of human sexuality

-the problem with conflicts that get out of hand

-the pressures to conform to secular values that are prominent in today's society

 

Situations like these are the crucible of married life.  How couples deal with them can build or destroy their relationship.  Their faith and God's grace can guide and sustain them as they journey through the ups and downs of married life.

 

 This program is designed to be used in different settings. 

  • It can be used as a “date nights” program or
  • as a resource for small faith communities,
  • as a parish retreat, or
  • it can be used by individual couples for their own enrichment

 




 In recent months the Bosios interviewed 21 couples and their stories are the heart of the program.
